Ferrari ATL had an open house this Saturday. There were 3 599's there.
For a car that cost $310K plus I was not impressed at all.
Very small trunk. In fact why have it at all.
Interior was less than stunning as well
I thought F car interiors were the one thing that gets better as the years go by...
Engine compartment hidden by large pieces of fiberglass.
Side by side there were a 575 and a 550
Much better choices in my opinion and a better value for a front engine 12cyl car.
I wonder what the differences in performance specs are ?
From what I've heard....significant. Claims of outlapping a 430 at Fiorano
are impressive if true. Styling aside, the 599 is a superior automobile....and with a motor that makes a more violent noise I'd say. The Maranello's motor isn't as cool sounding as the Boxer 12 or the chain driven V-12 from Sant'agata.
There was also a 612 there that looked damn good in silver.
A 612 that looks damn good??

Lets see how the 599 holds up in the used car arena.
It's not a perfect shape, but it has its virtues unlike the 612 which I feel offers nothing in the exterior styling department.
The car in this price range, Clyde, is the Murcielago LP640, or the Murcielago Spyder 6.2.
Hands down.
Or you could combine a Diablo SV with a 512 TR and be chillin'
:-)
