Thanks Paul!
The Porsche website has many videos but they are in Macromedia Flash Player format - with a file extension of .swf and a few with .flv. I have the Adobe video players needed for these file but I suspect I need an additional converter program to save them for play later - or preferably to save them to a CD/DVD for play. Any idea if keepvid.com is capable of opening and playing .swf files? BTW, the only way I can download them is to locate them in the "Temporary Internet FIles" folder and copy it to my Videos folder. They seem to try to make very difficult to keep copies of their files handy.
It sounds like your suggestion is just the ticket for the .flv files. Thanks for the suggestions.

>I love many of the car related videos we see links to so often but amfrustrated at the difficulty downloading them and saving them in a format that'll be easy to play at our convienence.
For the predominance of videos such as youtube which are in flash video format, flv,
present the url of the video to http://keepvid.com/ . They will convert it and you can
download the flv file which you simply need to name and save. FREE
To play the flash video files, download the FREE RIVA player from http://rivavx.de/
Installing this will allow you to simply click on the flv files for them to play.
