Yes you have to be careful about that as well. Those studs have been on the
car for over 20 years.

I didn't go as far as Britt did.  One thing I did was remove the intake
manifolds.  As a result, I sheared off several studs, thus necessitating
flatbedding my half-apart 308 to a machine shop to drill out the studs,
helicoil them, etc.

Before you go too far, ask yourself if you could possibly be just as happy
leaving it as is.  :-)
