DOTN TOUCH THAT CRANK CASE DRAIN IT WILL BRAKE OFF I never used it and it is not worth the trouble. Here is what I did. Warm up the car with the coolant tank cover off. Loosen the front top hose clamp first so that you can remove it by hand Get a hose with a stream of water to constantly refill the coolant tank ready Start the car and run it until the fan comes on When it does remove the from top hose and let the water come put it will be hot wear gloves Have some one constantly refill the coolant recovery tank at a slow rate When the water comes out of the front top hose to the radiator cool you have flushed the system. Turn off car Let the system cool Grab a beer or wine Once cool remove the top hose again and let the water out as much as you can Replace the hose clamp and tighten Add coolant If you can raise rear of car at least 12" it will help get air out of system Run car and open bleed screw and have coolant ready to refill coolant recovery tank. When water comes out of bleed screw and fans run you are done Get a new coolant recovery tank cap as well they go bad and it is not worth it clyde -----Original Message----- From: Rui Gigante [mailto:rui.gigante [at] gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 1:00 PM To: clyde Cc: The FerrariList Subject: [Ferrari] Bleeding cooling system Hi listers, I need another piece of advice from the list. While working on my 328 I've noticed that the coolant is just plain water ! I have decided to flush the system and use new anti-freeze. I've bought it from Mercedes, since so many people state that it is very good quality. The workshop manual is not very specific about flushing the system, but I guess I should use the bleeder on the radiator to get rid of the old fluid, but what about the drain tap on the crankcase? What is the correct order to do it ? Thanks, Rui 88' 328 GTS - getting better _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/clyderomero%40worldnet. att.net Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper -- No virus found in this incoming message.
