Exactly!! And it ain;t just damn yankees - many immigrants seem to want to recreate all the crap they left - supposedly coming to America to find a better life - while dragging all their garbage with them! Little Italy, Little China, Little Germany - and all the others - and while many acclimated themselves to become Americans others want to live here while maintaining their old life.

Why'd they come here in the 1st place?

Steve:

I got to Texas back in 1978. After color TV, but before Algore
invented the internet and global warming. Soon I was going out for
dinner with some friends; we met at someone's house. On the way out
the door I am asked if I want a "go-cup".

"What is a go-cup?"

Turns out it was a drink in a plastic cup to have while you were on
your way to dinner. See, Texas had no law against drinking and
driving. The law specified that you could not drive drunk. But there
was nothing against sipping a cool one on the commute home.

This was back in the days when citizens were still assumed to have
some semblance of personal responsibility. Before point .08,and
Hysterical Mothers Against Anything Remotely Construed As Fun.

Over the holidays I drove through California. The roads are riddled
with intrusive lighted signs advising drivers to call and report any
drunk drivers. Of course, anyone who has gone too heavy on the
cologne is going to blow .08, beer or no beer, and now the populace
are being enlisted as snitches.

It sucks. I hate the Nanny State. All Osama and friends have to do is
wait. We are pissing away America completely unaided by outside
interference. Am I in favor of drunk driving- hell no. Do I think
there are any less drunks out there in WussWorld then there were in
manly prehistory?

Hell no.
