Ferrari Mailing List: OT: Great used car value??

Was thinking about how kick ass of a used car that high mileage Mercedes
Benz Turbo Diesel E Class that ran 100k miles in a little over a month's
time.....

Just think about this:

1) The car is only 1-2 months old at the end of testing (i.e. interior/body
is brand new)
2) Car was very well maintained throughout mechanically
3) Car was driven by pros
4) 100% highway miles.....no bumps or potholes either!

The bottom line is the resale value would have to be a lot less than
new....30-50% off for a car that is perhaps 95% as new or maybe better. The
E-Class is a nice car , and the turbo diesel is a great powerplant offering
good torque and fuel efficiency.

I'm sure a car like this is probably scrapped after testing, but if it
wasn't and was for sale would you buy it?

Even car audio demo cars occasionally go on sale, and those things cost a
fortune to make and are one of a kind...
