As many of you know, there is a strong contingent of nutcases that make this trip up from DC each year. Last year, we had 14 cars and 43 people in our group. It makes for some interesting stories and lots of embellishment...if nothing else. The "official" schedule is very light this year. There is only one group dinner on Sunday planned, but it's not difficult to find entertainment in Montreal. For anyone interested in joining us, here are a few details: CARAVAN TO MONTREAL FROM DC: Please RSVP if you'd like to leave on Thursday, June 7th from the DC area with us. TICKETS I won't be ordering any for this year, but here's the contact info for the box office: www.grandprix.ca or 514-350-0000 HOTELS I have ten (10) rooms reserved at the Hotel du Fort (www.hoteldufort.com) The minimum stay is 4 nights at $325 CDN/night. Why do we stay here? The staff is fantastic, there is *FREE* underground, secure garage parking, it is walking distance to many of the major displays and attractions and is located near a subway stop. It is also very close to the freeways, so reaching the hotel will not result in a "cooling system" incident. When reserving, ask for Karen Palin in Reservations and mention my name or "Ferrari Club". SOCIAL EVENTS (aka Jack Daniels fueled terror) There will be a group dinner for anyone interested on Sunday, June 10th at 7pm. This will be at Jardin Nelson in the Old Port section of the city. We've been here three times and it is fantastic with live music. Again, the reservation will be under my name and "Ferrari Club". http://www.jardinnelson.com/english/index1.htm We will be on the balcony, outdoors, as usual. KARTING We will be organizing a small karting group catered to the more hardcore racers. If you currently use male body spray or have spent more than $75 for a pair of jeans recently, don't bother. www.kart-o-mania.ca If anyone is wondering what the big deal about the Canadian GP and Montreal is, please check these links out: http://exhaust.tv/Montreal05/index.php http://exhaust.tv/Montreal04/index.php Let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like to join us. Thanks, LS PS-Dave Handa, put down the TV remote and study that first link very carefully! ____________________________________________________________________________________ No need to miss a message.
