It's addictive!

I keep staring between my unfinished basement and http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=19

As for the plasma questions the PRO model is great if you have an external video processor that does everything and sends pixel for pixel native resolution output to your panel. Otherwise get the consumer model.

IMHO in order:

1) all others
2) Panasonic
3) Pioneer
4) Higher end tends to be #2 or #3 re-badged, maybe coated, maybe some different processors as the price increases.

That is a great plasma screen, and I was actually going to buy that
one...but got caught up in the "might as well" syndrome...so moved up to 50"
since that seems to be the standard size now days with all the new 58" to
63" and even 100+" sizes now.

Already have an upscaling DVD player, but realize my older Marantz separates
was not going to cut it, since the processor only switches with s-video
connections, rather than the new HDMI. So, need to get a new
receiver/processor (SteveJ to the rescue with a great deal, thanks SteveJ!)

So my original $2k budget got pushed up to around $3.5k and now Buxton has
me pushing $4k....stop the insanity! lol
