Just got around to watching two auto-related shows on my TiVo and thought I'd share a couple of reviews.

Victory By Design: Corvette
Haven't had a new VBD in awhile. Nice to see Alain driving something big, brawny, loud and manly instead of those weeny Brit or Italian cars. Good selection of cars: early 6-cyl, classic split-windows, 427 big-blocks, Grand Sports, CERV cars, '70s racers, C6-R, etc.

Man, Moment, Machine: Enzo Ferrari and the Historic Race
The story is of Enzo and his effort to beat rival Alfa Romeo in the '51 Silverstone GP.
The show covers Enzo's early history as a racer and Alfa team manager and his rise as a post-war car builder. Some good early film footage and still photos. Interviews and commentaries by Michael Sheehan, Richard Merritt, Dan Gurney, Luigi Chinetti, Jr and others.
They must have had a Tifosi assisting the writers as they managed to get most of the details right. Stories of his early life and, especially, technical facts about the cars are handled with more accuracy than you usually see from a TV show.
A couple of beefs. In the re-enacted scenes, the actor playing Il Commendatore speaks Italian OK but doesn't look anything like the Old Man, though. The host takes a 250GTO to the track, which is very good BUT they could have got a mike closer to the engine or exhaust so as to get a better recording of the engine note.
Overall, they did a good job of presenting a slice of Ferrari history.
