There used to be aq guy in the Outer Banks of North Caolina who had a Cloud II
which he apparently lifted off the chassis and put it on a 4 wd chassis
Suburban etc. I never did meet him, but thought he must be a class act. Phil

I drive a 1970 2 tone series 1 Silver Shadow.... which is the era I like...
still chrome bumpers and simple as an axle compared to computer infested
cars of later years... one of the same reasons I wanted the carbed 308
also.. fuel injection to me means "to modern!". lol

I also love the simple lines of the early GTB... I will take a slower older
less dianamically "good" car just because it looks so right to my eye.

I know what you mean about the impressions people take... I mostly drive a
horrible 25 year old japanese van that has not seen a carwash in years... I
need it for work every day... and I smile at people in BMW's or Jags that
look down their nose at me in that...

You can never tell what people are really like at a glance.
One chap arould here looks like a total street bum with old clothes, crazy
hair and an old beat up japanese car... he came to me for help one day when
he was shiffing into his house as he didn't know many people here and he
could not lift some things, I gave hime a hand and a few weeks later was
invited into his shed to see 2 Corvettes and 7 Rolls Royces (from Cloud to
Corniche convertable).

As for what car to arrive in... if I got to do a quote for work in the RR or
Ferrari people will automatically think it's going to be expensive!
And it's best to trun up to look at buying something in the old van and not
the RR THATS for sure!

lol

People are funny animals really.

Odd thing is I really enjoy driving my RR at night as then I can relax and
just enjoy the car without other people even knowing what I am driving.
Regards
Gavin
