One of my assistants had an NSX - full suspension, intake and exhaust  
upgrades yada yada yada.  He let me wring the crap out of it.  My  impression 
was 
the same as yours.  More capable than anything I owned at  the time BUT it 
really did feel like I was driving a Honda.  Although he  raced cars too, he 
couldn't understand why I would drive cars that were  relatively unreliable on 
the 
street.  He stands by his Acura fleet.

was so excited I could hardly stand it. 
Got in, started it  up.....just like my Prelude
Took off....quick....just like my Prelude but  faster
Chassis....  Very stiff laterally, but rode, JUST LIKE MY  Prelude!
Had fun in the car, but felt let down  afterward.
