Dave - 

 

Assuming it is the same as on the 308QV (can't imagine that it is
different), remove the right rear wheel, and the fender liner. You should
see a hexagonal plug with two wires coming out of it in the transaxle
housing. It should be facing forward and downward somewhat. This is the
speedo sending unit.

 

In the 308 QV parts book that I have it is #76 on TAV 23. 

 

You may be able to see it from under the car as well without removing the
fender liner, but I am not sure.

Exactly where is the speedometer sending unit on a Mondial QV (I assume it
is the same for the 308QV) and what does it look like? I can't seam to find
it in the repair manual, spare parts book, or even the wiring diagram. I
have developed an intermittent speedometer and separate odometer (they
simultaneously both work accurately and then both don't work at all; working
approximately 70% of the time). That makes me fairly certain that the
problem is the sender or the wiring between the sender and the dash. I will
be doing an oil change in the next day or so and want to look at it while I
am under the car, but can't find a picture of it or a description of it
anywhere.
