Bah. 400 lbs lighter? Methinks not. Ferrari's claimed curb weights have always been, shall we say, sketchy. So if a "regular" F40 is 2600 lbs, they actually removed 400 lbs by using thinner panels and magnesium bits in the engine? No way. As for the claim of it being the "ultimate F40", well the later F40 LMs/GTEs must surely deserve that title, no? Which is not to say that this particular example is not unique and maybe even collectible for being a show car and prototype, but I doubt that it's that much more fun to drive than your run-of-the-mill F40. I'd be really interested, admittedly, in the real story as to how it got into private hands, given the history of the Buitoni family and Ferrari.
