Hi Steve,
I didn't intend to come across as being against the march of technology. I just don't believe the way it's portrayed on TV is anything like it is in real life - just like everything else shown on TV. Every fender bender (rhetorically speaking) doesn't need require a team of forensic scientist & investigators probing thru everything in & around the crime scene. By all means, when a major felony has been committed (or alledged) every rock should be turned over.
Also, when a case has overwhelming evidence one way or another, jurors shouldn;t wonder why CSI didn't do this or that. It's not called for in *every* instance.
But most of all, we wouldn;t want to deprive Dr Steve of his next Ferrari. ;-)
Speakingof Ferrari's - saw my 1st F360 on the road today (maybe it was a F430) and it even better in person than it is in videos/magazines.
And... taa daa....the F car driver waved! I was in my 911 and waved back. Great way to start a day -
Remember when sports car drivers waved and flashed each other? Whether they were driving TRs or MGs or Porsches? It was like being in a great big fraternity.'

Speaking of CSI -- evidently there is something happening in the world of Prosecutions and Jury Trials -called the CSI Effect
Careful Larry:
That is what paid for the 348.
It also saved the life of a 22 year old kid who was wrongfully accused of
Rape, Sodomy, Arson and Murder. Science in the courtroom is now a fact of life.
If we are to preserve important protections for society such as the death
penalty we must move as far forward as possible, as fast as possible to use
science to protect the rights of the (wrongfully, amongst others) accused at
trial.
Just look to what the numerous "Innocence Projects" have proven over the last decade.
