I have not redlined my GTB either... Got to 7000 in 4th last week at 120mph thow! I rewarded my car today with some new parts that arrived:) New gas flap, bright new chrome horse for the back, and new rubber pedals to replace the horid home made aluminum ones. So I feel good that the car ran well and now it can now relax with some nice shiny new parts to keep it happy. I ended up getting the parts via the USA in the end... from http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/ Gas flap was $35US pedal rubbers 19 each and horse 55 I think... all good prices I thought... They seemed very efficent and a little cheaper than other places I looked at... responded to e-mails super fast and the parts were here in New Zealand in less than a week... good servce should be rewarded, so if I need anything more I will try them first for sure:) Regards Gavin New Zealand 1978 308GTB. ----- Original Message ----- From: red5hilser [at] aol.com To: gavinnz [at] xtra.co.nz Cc: ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com ; Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 11:43 AM Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Road trip report in 308 GTB from New Zealand Hey Gavin: Many props to you and your Fazzaz. When my GT4 was delivered I took it to the service station for some fresh gas. A 'lookie-loo' came over and said, "nice car, mister.' Since it was shipped from New York, it didn't have a license plate on it. He noticed that asked where it was. I looked him in the eye and answered, "Mister, it's a Ferrari and WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES!" With that he rounded up the little lady and 2 kids and headed toward town post-haste. A week after that, I drove it to the beach in Mexifornia for a nice drive with GTS Doug to Symbolic Motors in La Jolla to look at the $million dollar cars that we could have bought for $10k or less in 'The Good Old Days'. 1,100 total miles and she never missed a beat, although I did use 2 qts. of Mobile Synthetic. I never redlined it once but she saw many minutes at 6,500rpm in 5th while crossing the desert. Maybe cLyDe was right. 'All GT4s are 'shitboxes.' Yer pal, Shitbox Bubba
