good storage tower or other device to make managing them easier?

I have my software CDs in a photo-album like book but there's many more.
Especially ones I burn myself.

Larry: go out and buy this:

http://www.buy.com/prod/lacie-500gb-usb-2-0-external-hard-drive-designed-by-
f-a-porsche-301103u/q/loc/101/202883565.html

Or this:

/q/loc/101/202581102.html

The first is an external hard drive with 500 gigabytes of room, designed by
Porsche Design no less, and only $177. The second is another external hard
drive with a full terrabyte of storage, for $300.

Rip all of your CDs and DVDs to the drive(s). If you want to watch your
videos on the TV or play music through the home media system, just get an
Apple TV or Xbox 360 or all of the alternate choices to serve as a home
media extender.

Never have to shuffle discs again. Is it a PITA to rip all the discs?
Sure. But it's only a matter of time. I'd guess that a lot of people on
this list only listen to MP3s these days, no longer loading CDs into
changers. We all had to rip our stuff to hard drives at some point.
