Re: Check out the FAQs from Ferrari of Denver

I should also come to the defense of FoD having had a good experience
with them.

Two or three years ago my Dad and I went out there for a convention. At
the time my dad was considering a 355 spider. He had driven my 6-speed
but had never tried the F1 box, which he thought he wanted. FoD had a
nice yellow/black F1 spider in stock, so I called them the week before,
explained that we were coming out for the convention and that my Dad
would like to have some seat time in an F1 equipped car. We set an
appointment at that time.

I can't remember our salesman's name, but he was very accommodating,
especially in light of the fact that we arrived in a taxi since we
hadn't rented a car. When we arrived the car was out front. The salesman
took me out for a short familiarization drive with the car (since it was
only my 2nd time in an F1 car) and when we got back, he gave the car to
my dad and I to take out on our own.

I agree that the FAQ is a little harshly worded, but I understand why,
and it does seem entirely truthful. However, clearly their policies
aren't written in stone and like any good dealer, I'm sure the sales
team and the managers are adept at separating the "Hey let's see if we
can score a test drive in a Ferrari" group from the people who have a
legitimate question and buying interest like ours.

We didn't end up buying the car, but we did leave the dealership with a
very positive opinion of their team.

And, of course, we remain strongly in favor of the free market economy,
without which we would not have the ability to be in the market for such
a vehicle.
