You're a brave man, Jim!

I love the colour too. This is the 3rd Ferrari I've had in this colour now.

I know of sodium valves that have broken at idle, while turning over with
the starter motor, at low engine speed and at high engine speed.....even
broken in someone's hand when they were being changed!

Most of the smog pumps have been removed on these cars from very early on,
so I'm not sure that's the problem.

I did NOT know that it's usually #3.

WOW! She is beautiful!! My car was originally Dino Metallico Blu. I
just love that color!!!

I too have the Sodium valves, but I'm not going to do mine quite yet. In
approx 12-18 months, ill pull the motor, do the valves plus the major
service. Unlike later cars, I don't have any smog equiptment, nor do I
drive *that* hard. From what I've read, most failures occur over 6000RPMs
or on start up and it seems to be the #3CYL which has to do with the smog
set up.... A little risky I know, but it will get done in due time.

Have fun, she's a BEAUTY!!!!!

It's got the sodium valves. They're being changed before I do more driving

I think the pics tell it all.

63000km...that's about 30000m 3 owners @10years.

WOW! Congrats!!!!

Before you do anythning, replace your fuel filler hose and it your hands on
all of your fuel lines! If you cannot be 100% sure that they were recently
replaced, DO THEM NOW!!!!!!
I had submitted a post on this with pics last week, but the server bumped
it. Ill roost it soon with pics posted somewhere....
All the fuel hoses can be sourced at NAPA. I have a link to sizes if you
need it.

Send pics and DO TELL about your GT4!!!!!

Gavin notes "I gave the car a good clean and in the process found "Made in
Taiwan" on the mirrors!!!! ?|"

Hoo Haaa Gavin - aint it a ball? Getting used to the clink clink when
shifting? Man, I love that sound.

So the mirrors had Taiwan on them eh? Wait till you take a close look at
your tool kit - India.

In 1999 when we were at the factory I asked one of the people there why they
had put cheap tools made in India with chrome peeling from the screw driver
in the earlier cars - his reply was - well, back then we were a small
company and couldn't concern ourselves with luxury as we do now - besides,
you aren't supposed to do any work on the car yourself - take it to an
authorized dealer. heh heh

PS - you may want to check out the accelerator pedal box for lubrication.
Ours was so stiff it took two feet - turns out the original grease had gone
pink and was hard as a brick. I bet the same problem happens to the window
winders - But NEVER take one of those apart unless you absolutely need to -
that picture hanging wire goes everywhere. Just a few shots of motorcycle
chain lube does the trick
