Dear Jerry - This is a Federal EPA thing. As for the state, I can not speak for Florida - since I am involved in Kalifornia Smog Check (good site is www.smogcheck.ca.gov) but if this car were to try to come into Kalifornia - expect a 3 to 6 month test at a lab and maybe as little as $30,000 for the tests and sticker - IF it makes it. Is this the Turbo 208? Not that it makes a difference - Ferrari Willi has a 208 gt4 that is dang close to 308 quickness up to about, um, 70 mph or so.

DOUG
See Amerispec - they were the only folks that I would trust with a 288GTO.

I have a friend who has a home near Turin Italy, as well as a home here in Florida. He wants to know what's involved in his buying the 208 in Italy, and bringing it to the USA. The car is unmodified (stock for Italy). Also what are the approximate costs involved in shipping, bringing it up to emmisions and safety standards (with gov't approvals), and licensceing it in Florida. Also what to look for, as far as possible problems, in a 208.

   Thank you,
       Jerry
