It's either the ignition sw, the starter solenoid or a starter or the wiring.
When it happens see if there's voltage at the 12v pin on the 
solenoid. if there is voltage, the ignition sw is ok and the starter 
is the problem.
the voltage should go on/off as you turn the key on/off.  you can 
pull the wire off so the starter doesn't go.

if it's pointing at the starter, then put the wire back on, try it 
again, if it doesn't start, tapping the solenoid should move it a 
little and it should start.
if it starts it's the solenoid if it doesn't it's probably the brushes.
