Hey Gang, I too have a carbed 308 and it has destinctive smells. It runs a little rich because there's carbon in the tail pipe and it smells 'rich' after a cold start. It also runs like the stallion that it is! However, my car smells only of hot metal after a run. No burned oil smell, just that 'hot' smell - and not much of that. BTW, my car has ceramic coated pipe headers, no heat shields, no pumps, no cats and dry sump lubrication with Mobil1 synthetic. Oh yea, it was tuned and serviced by Ric Rainbolt.
