Jumpering the dimmer should be tried first, before going to the trouble of
changing the bulbs to brighter ones. I've done the upgrade a few times, you
will probably find jumpering to be sufficient.

Subject: [Ferrari] stinky question answered

I have changed to Shell gas instead of a local independent brand and the
stink has mostly gone away when I park the 308 inside the closed garage.
After
checking and wiggling every fuel connection and line I could reach there
is
nothing leaking I could find. The carburetors appear to have the proper
gaskets in place and the micro switch to run the ignition on the "retard"
set of
points.(for emissions) is not connected because I don't have any points,
hence
no need for the micro switch.

The tank was only half empty so it only took a little over 8 gallons; there

is more of the old fuel to replace and I only took it for a short run before

the weather turned stormy.

I'll post again if the problem comes back. Thank you for all your ideas.

Another Question: my dash lights are very dim. My mechanic suggested the
dimmer switch on the dash was worn out and to just jump across it to
increase
the lights. Has anyone removed the dash to reach behind it? How hard is it
to
get it out. The 4 screws in the corners are way down inside and I can just
see
dropping one of them into a black hole. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
