Ferrari Mailing List: 308 short trip after a month of sitting! and Magnum

Finanlly got time off and good weather combined yesterday and took the GTB 
out after a month of sitting.

I took mate out for a drive and introduced him to the Ferrari experance... 
his comment afterwards was "I think that could become adictive!"
lol

Starter motor didn't even turn when I first went to start the car... but the 
dashs light dimmed.. so I assumed the battery was down (what with the clock 
and alarm draining it) but when I put the charger on the battery the charger 
didn't behave like it would if the battery as flat.... so I thought for a 
while over a nice hot cuppa then put the car in 4th and rocked it back and 
forward a bit.... and then tried starting it and away it went!

Last week I bought the DVD " the best of Magnum PI" lol.... GREAT to re-live 
the first eposide where he "steals" the 308 and twice during the program he 
meets people he knows and they say "where did you steal the Ferrari from 
Magnum" and he indignatly says with a hurt look on his face "it COULD be 
mine" and they laugh at him... which I have had happen to me so that was 
classic....

Also it's funny how he gets outside the gate in the car and stops.. he is 
viewed from the side uncliping and just appearing to slide the roof back and 
the driving off!!!  And when seen from the back taking off the roof has 
magically disapeared..... into the hands of a couple of the crew no doubt:)
That take off wheel spinning on the grass sideways and the onto the road is 
the bit I remerbered all those years.

Great fun to drive and great fun to watch.
