"...was thrown from the car."

Sounds like another one who didn't think he needed seat belts.

Subject: [Ferrari] tragic 328 crash LIE Long Island

Here is an article in a local newspaper.....
If anyone hears that it was a mechanical problem or hears anymore...please
post.

DIX HILLS, N.Y. (AP) _ A speeding Ferrari driver crashed into a light pole
on an expressway on Sunday and was killed, police said.

Neil Battinelli, of Oyster Bay, lost control of his 1989 Ferrari on the Long
Island Expressway about 9:10 a.m., smacked into the light pole and was
thrown from the car, Suffolk County police said. Battinelli, 64, died at the
scene.

The Ferrari, which might have had a mechanical problem, was impounded for a
safety check, said police, who didn't know what model it was. Ferraris from
that year are highly collectible and can sell for tens of thousands of
dollars.
