I saw two links about this story...will forward later.

There's a chance it's not an '89 Ferrari, but an ENZO ....

I was always amazed at the number of very preventable accidents that I saw in the ER from simply not wearing a damn belt.....then there is my old counterpart who doesn't ever wear them because he was in an accident at 16yrs old and someone said out loud that he was lucky..."a seatbelt wouldve really hurt you...". He is absolutely convinced that they harm people! The other thing that goes along with this is helmets. Moving from Grand Rapids to Indiana I saw significantly more nasty injuries on bikes! Natural Selection I guess... Jim Sent from my BlackBerry(r) wireless device

"...was thrown from the car."

Sounds like another one who didn't think he needed seat belts.

Here is an article in a local newspaper..... If anyone hears that it was a mechanical problem or hears anymore...please post.

DIX HILLS, N.Y. (AP) _ A speeding Ferrari driver crashed into a light pole on an expressway on Sunday and was killed, police said.

Neil Battinelli, of Oyster Bay, lost control of his 1989 Ferrari on the
Long
Island Expressway about 9:10 a.m., smacked into the light pole and was
thrown from the car, Suffolk County police said. Battinelli, 64, died at
the
scene.

The Ferrari, which might have had a mechanical problem, was impounded for
a
safety check, said police, who didn't know what model it was. Ferraris
from
that year are highly collectible and can sell for tens of thousands of
dollars.
