Years ago (and I mean that literally) at a sports car speed/race shop
(Speedway Custom in Allston, MA) I hung out at, I was given the task of
grinding about 1 mm from the IDs of a pair of bearings so that they
would fit Ferrari rear axle shafts. I used a lathe and a toolpost
grinder. IIRC they were sealed, nonseparable ball bearings and I used
duct (I mean racer's) tape to prevent the inner race from rotating. Do
you think Ferrari was playing that game back then?

Hi Rui: I have replaced one side on my 328. I encountered prices ranging from 500 to 1200 dollars per bearing. I contacted SKF, USA who checked with their Euro-counterpart and discovered that Ferrari has exclusive marketing rights to this bearing. Dennis McCann in Westerville, Ohio had the best price I could find. $475 for a Mondial QV recall kit. You have to replace the new Mondial stub axle with the 328 stub axle and you are ready to go.
