The embedded mirror V1 is a stupid gimmick for folks with more money than
brains. If you just want to hide the display, order the remote display from
V1 and mount it lower in the car, so it's not visible from behind. The
problem with the mirror-embedded display is that the V1 unit STILL NEEDS to
be mounted so that it gets a good view front and back, which means in the
windshield area. And if you can see the display in the rear view mirror,
the cop behind you can also see the display - which is why some folks want
the remote display mounted low in the dash. So what's the point???

Although I've seen ingenious folks mount it in a tissue box on the rear deck
(loses laser detection and sensitivity to the front), or mounted nicely
under the passenger headrest and above the seatback (again, loses laser
detection if you HAVE a passenger).

A guy was making a much neater solution, IIRC, some time back, for BMWs - he
figure out a way to embed the display INTO a standard BMW gauge cluster.
Very trick, very neat. But still doesn't solve the "where to mount the box"
problem.

I just sucked it up and have hard-wired cords and windshield suction cup
mounts in all the vehicles (thanks Chucklehead!). Much better ways to spend
$2k. Yeesh!

Re the Blinder, a number of authoritative folks (including a couple on this
list) have suggested that Blinder is THE jammer to get. It's on my to-do
list....

Has anyone done the trick rear view mirror install with their V1?

My shop quotes it around $2000 all in, mirror and install...I've seen it and
it looks sick.

Also, what are your thoughts on Blinder? A lot of people seem to like it and
I don't think you can tell if a car has it or not.

I haven't signed up for battle officially with the cops in this regard but I
plan to enlist soon...

:)
