I have to also advise that it's very important to have the V1 with you.

<imaginary story>
"Hey, where's your v1?"

"I sent it in for updates, because I discovered it wasn't working when I
drove back from the Oregon coast."

"Oh, then we should be careful... *CHUCKLE*"

Then I can imagine (theoretically of course) of this one time mere minutes
after the above conversation... In Maple Valley Washington... Going through
an underpass in a Maserati QuattroPorte at full throttle at triple digits in
a 35... then seeing two police cars on the other side of the underpass as we
blew by.

</imaginary story>

That was a little tense, but luckily it's imaginary and _never_ happened. ;)

Ahem...

Has it not gotten through people to try Google? (ps; I just ran these
through google and did not look at the links closely...)

Dennis, how'd ya get the V1 to fit in the E38 by the rearview mirror? On
my
2000, the funky cutouts on the windscreen aren't large enough to allow the
entire front of V1 to be exposed. I thought I have to mount my V1 in the
lower center of the windscreen for clear road view. Advise....

Passport and others versus V1:

Years ago when I ran One Lap, we couldn't get a V1 in time due to it's
popularity. However, it was easy to get a Passport. Going from track to
track,
we ran in pretty much same group of cars. Of course each of the cars had
varying radar detectors with the guys from Acura running the sole V1 in the

group. Being in constant communication, we warned each other of any stray
radar
bleeps. Consistently, the V1 outdetected all brands of radar detectors by
1
MILE. The V1 even detected a trooper from behind running his radar gun
live
before it was even in sight. We happen to be the last car in line at the
time
and the "360 degree" protection of the passport/rear detection indicator
went off as the trooper was in our rearview mirror!

Radar detectors since have definitely improved but without the second
antenna and the "arrows", no other detector truly matches the V1 for
protection.

One more anecdote... I happen to be on the cell phone with one of the
persons on the development team of the V1 while driving "aggressive" on the

highway out of town. Next thing I know, I get one quick beep and was being
flagged
down by a group of troupers. I told the guy, "$#it!!! Couldn't you guys
do
something against instant on!!!" LOL

PS. What's "Blinder"?
