Ahhhh, yes. Lotus.  That would be a great example to work on if you didn;t 
care if you could drive it much.  Actually, unless you are a certain 
physique, you might not be able to drive it anyway!  I had a Lotus Europa, 
and since I wear huge size 9 shoes, I had to take my shoes off to drive it 
because the pedals were so close together.  ;-\

As with all Lotus' built during the Chapman era, it required a owners to 
have certain fondness for tinkering.  And a willingness to make the same 
repairs over and over.  My accelerator cable tended to come loose from the 
transmission tunnel (I know, it didn;t have a trans tunnel) as the little 
bracket holding the cable in place liked to fall off no matter how well 
attached.

I hear the more recent Esprits had significantly better build quality.  Hope 
so.   On a related note, I was very saddened when Lotus pulled out of F1 - 
they had been a mainstay for so looooong!  Oh well, time marches on -

Funny thing that.  Other than my daily driver, I don't
drive much.  In fact, I have restored cars and sold
them with nothing more than a test drive!  I know, its
shameful to have a 308GTB that rarely gets driven -
but that's the long-n-short of it.  I like building
and restoring, not driving.  Perhaps I should have
bought a Lotus!  I'm not sure but I think you can ONLY
work on them. :-P  Perhaps this explains my love for
British cars...
