The car runs great all the way through to 6000rpm. Still running it in, so haven't taken it further. That doesn't make it right, of course. They run great with all sorts of igintion and mixture settings. It's making it run at its best that I'm after! :) -----Original Message----- From: Rick Lindsay [mailto:rolindsay [at] yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, 15 August 2007 11:54 PM To: Peter Pless Cc: The FerrariList Subject: [Ferrari] 308GT4 (or any) plugs Indeed! I didn't take the necessary care to ask if the car was Euro or US spec and I'm certainly no wizz on GT4s but I do have a carbed, Euro GTB. It has TWO ignitions and eight carb chokes! Yeeehaaa! Lots of places for things to go wrong - and right! If one bank is different, ignition is implied. If one cylinder is different or two sharing a DCNF, carburation/mixture is implied. I've even found an incorrect spark plug in a correct box before! Occum's razor says check the simple stuff first. e.g. mal-adjusted carb rather than a worn cam lobe. Another important question is: How does it run? Strong throughout the range? Any chance of a high rev miss? Something that feels like a rev-limiter? That is a classic indication of an ignition running out of steam - so to speak. --- Doug and Terri Anderson <dnt [at] dock.net> wrote: > Rick asks "Quick question: Do all of the plugs look similar or is one > bank different; or one plug different?" > > GOOD point Rick - for all intents and purposes, the > gt4 engine is really two > 4 cylinder engines held together by a common crankshaft and cylinder > block. > > DOUG _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/ferrarilist%40pless.com .au Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper http://www.BidNip.com/ and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
