Ill be doing this to my '74GT4 sometime in the next 12 months...

There are other options like Pertronix which replace the points with magnetic 
pickups inside the distributor  that feed into an MSD box.  This allows you to 
keep the stock look while having a more  reliable ignition. There is a hit on 
FChat that rebuilds the dizzy with the Pertronix set up....runs $500ish IIRC + 
MSD.

I am about to do an engine out service (30K) on my '79 308 and want to install 
a High Energy Ignition system in place of the external coil breaker system.  I 
do intend to keep the stock system.

What suggestions regarding souce (brand, retailer, etc) do you experienced
