I guess I may be the only non-McLaren hater here but I
must ask; Why are we not surprised?  This is F1.  It's
a show not a sport.  Yes, at the very front line it
may be viewed as sport but above that its a big,
high-dollar entertainment industry.  Will all this
hurt F1?  Probably not a bit.  The fans will still be
watching and buying the merchandise.  In fact, if they
offer a McLaren cap made in rosso corsa, I will buy
it!!!  :-P
