512 TR: FG's pick of '90s F Car

I remember in '96 when I first joined the list and really got into this
Ferrari thing (and cars in general) for real...

Times have changed, tastes have changed. Back then I detested the 348, and
the 512 TR wasn't much better off (now I adore both). The 355 was all the
rage in the car world...and it'd often trump the 512 TR in comparisons.

It was a tough pick back then, but now it seems to be a no brainer to me.
512 TR has stood the test of time very very well...a '92 design that still
is sexy today. A very violent look combined with a sound to match, while
still being a "man's Ferrari".

It can be outaccelerated and outhandled by a few Ferraris of the era, but as
an all around package (and for the price) it's tough to beat. The 355 is
close but the styling isn't as striking IMHO (esp. if it's not in an assault
color like red or yellow), and I've been told repeatedly that the controls
are more 430 than 348. ;)

The F512M is a better version of the 512 TR, but styling has polarized
people. It might be an interesting proposition one day as nobody seems to
have it.

So that's my pick of '90s F-Car. Wonder what others will pick for their 90s
F car...
