Just that cheating and unethical behavior in sports is not a new thing and has been going on since the dawn of sports. I have an autographed photo of baseball's "Shot Heard Round the World" when Bobby Thomson of the New York Giants hit a home run off of Ralph Branca of the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the 1951 National League pennant at the Polo Grounds. It was considered an heroic feat until several years later it was revealed that the Giants had a guy posted in center field with a pair of binoculars to steal the catcher's signs. While Thomson still had to hit a clutch home run to win the game, it just may have been a little bit easier knowing that the next pitch coming his way was going to be a fastball. These days there is no ethical standard left in any kind of sport. Whether its doping for the Olympics or Tour de France, or steroids in baseball or tainted refereeing in the NBA, cheating has become the standard in sports. That is why I rarely watch sports anymore, its all pretty reprehensible. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
