Ferrari Mailing List: NFC: PS2 memory card failure?

So I'm playing Tiger's '04 PGA Tour game EA Sports and am only 2.3M away from 
being #1 money winner ever.  Then, when trying to play the game most recently, 
the "Game Modes" lettering on the menu is black and I don't get to pick that 
option.  Have sprayed "dust gone" or whatever on memory card and in slot in 
PS2.  Have I just wasted a year's worth of time for nothing?  (Well...)
