Hola Bubba,

A lot of Hollywood types went off to do their duty during WWII. Many 
flew combat missions even though they were not supposed to. Quite a few 
landed on beaches along with the regular soldiers. Some were even decorated.

Don't forget that Hollywood stars sold most of the war bonds during that 
time as well.

Johnny Carson narrated a good documentary about this subject as I recall 
-- "Hollywood at War" if I am not mistaken.

Compared to Hollywood of today? Well, let's just say that very few of 
them deserve our respect.
