Rick,
What did you do to mod the front spindles/dust caps to get the 328 wheels to
fit??
I put 328 wheels on my GT4 and it has totally transformed the car! I need to
mod the spindles or dust caps and am interested in the solution you used.

Hey Gang,
Okay, here is the update:
+ I have not been counting the replies from 308
owners. Sorry. But, there are a lot of us it
seems!
+ I have come to the conclusion that not too much gets
posted because not too much goes wrong with our
cars!
+ That being said, it seems that the ignition is a
valid topic. My car is a '79 308GTB, Standard
Specification and because it is a late '79 "Euro" it
already has electronic ignition. And (partially
because it is a dry sump car, it has a single
distributor. It's also 28 years old and bone-
stock. Never experienced an ignition problem of any
kind.
+ Ric Rainbolt put urethane suspension bushings on
the car about 5 years ago and the ride and handling
is excellent. When I lived in Tulsa, in the winter,
the urethane would squeak a little on cold mornings
but no other issues.
+ Other issues:
- I was a victim of the failed UFI filter D-ring
failures. Blew two of them before switching to
Baldwin oil filters.
- A/C was converted to R134a but the seals in the
York compressor have since failed. Will convert
it to a Sandon (sp?) unit this winter and leak-
test all the other components.
- Changed to 328 non-ABS wheels so I could fit
better rubber. Looks a little less period '70s
but I kept the 14" wheels and will restore them
for possible future use.
- Oh yea; Painted the car bright silver. All work
done in cooperation with Ric Rainbolt up in Allen,
Texas.
So the message is that there are A LOT of 308
owners here. It just seems that we are rather quiet.
It also seems that a lot of us have restored our cars,
or are in the process of restoring them. Here is a
link to a website holding a zillion pictures of my car
starting from the beginning up through how it sits
today. Many of these pictures were taken by Ric
Rainbolt so credit offered where credit is due. Ric
managed the entire exterior restoration of my car and
I still appreciate it. The interior is my work and it
is not, as yet, completed.

Plug: For the 308 owners, check out Steve Cook's
book! It's a must-have for our cars.
Regards and thanks for all the posts,
rick
