I have been on the list since 2001 but have not posted since Ferrari had a
world driving champion or Villeneuve looked good (he is from North America
and did have fine pedigree). I do not belong to any other lists but get
enough links from this list to keep me busy the small amount of time I am on
the web (or net, which is correct?)
I joined this list after talking to Scotty at Lime Rock one wonderful
Ferrari event and a few weeks later bought Christian Scott's 1980 308 GTBi,
Argento Rosso as I call her. (Silver metallic w/red)
There has not been one day in six years that I even slightly regret buying
this car except maybe that first night for a few moments when I had the UFI
filter failure occur on my ride home. It has started every time whether it
has sat for months or only moments after an Italian tune-up. For a period
of time (3 years, now you know why my wife calls me turtle) it was
undergoing considerable old age maintenance (how much fuel, vacuum, water
line is there) as well as exhaust repair w/ceramic coating (blew out a
section July 4th 2003, bye-bye funny looking whale like exhaust shields) and
belt w/related items, cam seals, adjust valves, new injectors, wires,
rotors, caps, etc. etc. etc. I drive it as often as I can with 12,000 miles
in 4 years on the road. My son gets in his fair mileage also.
And did I tell you how much time one (or one's friend) can put in polishing
aluminum?
Maybe Christian will post now that his name has appeared (how is young Enzo
Charles?) and tell us a Ferrari story from his days as owner or salesperson.
Rick, let us know what numbers you get from respondents.

Subject: [Ferrari] 3x8 evolution

Hey Gang,
I have been lurking (mostly) for the past year or
two. Not much to say really except perhaps when a
nerve is tweaked. The thing I have noticed is that
when I joined the list in '96, the talk was all about
308s. Of course, many of the new V8 cars were hardly
ideas then. But since then, the list has grown and
evolved and the road going GT cars have also changed.
Today I find it rare to see a post concerning a 308.
Hell, some days its rare to see a post about Ferraris!
Still, the recent thread on 355 tires has me
thinking, "Have we forgotten the 308s?" I now wonder
about the model distribution within the marque, of
list member Ferrari owners. What fraction of
FerrariList Ferrari owners do the 308 owners make up?

   Happy Tuesday!
