I had a friend in Phila. (he was a Lear pilot for Penske rumor has it
that when he and Roger went to take deliv. of a Lear they got on the
subj. of inverted flight, there were some Lear guys on board that said
it couldn't happen (wrong thing to say to Wally,) over it went, I
believe that it did spend a little down time after that and I believe
that it was the same ship that I subsequently flew in with Wally.

Wally DuPron was the consumate Ferrari enthusiast (post 12 cyl.) he
owned an early 308 GTB may even have been glass, he drove the s*** out
of it, tore it down did all his own service did the heads and the last
time I was in it, it had 138,000 miles.... he did not want any one to
know in case he chose to sell. Wally died of cancer in the early / mid
90's, a loss to the world of insanity in the air and on the ground.

As you may know...the easiest thing to do to keep a Ferrari 308 low
mileage was to lie down reach up and dis con the speedo a 15 second
operation that was just as easily restored...I do get tired of all
this "low mileage" BS, it suggests that the cars are only garage
   queens and not drivers.
