Good day mate, I know exactly how you feel. In 1975 when the 308 came out I was 17 years old. I NEVER NEVER EVER stopped dreaming about owning one. Then, came Magnum P.I., then came Christy Brinkley driving one in a movie ( I forgot the title), well........ In 2001, at the age of 43, I bought a 1981 GTSi (red on black). You're right when you say the lines are just perfect. My favorite architect is Frank Lloyd Wright. His best designs are a great mixture of very sharp straight lines and curves. The 308 IS THAT. When I finally bought it, my favorite reaction from all the different reactions I got from friends was, "finally you'll have to find a different subject to talk about now that you have it". I'm a teacher, I teach English as a second language in a primary school. I don't have the salary for a Ferrari. Somehow, I manage. That's what dreams are all about. Money, time, energy are never a problem. Which is nice as it's been a "driver" all it's life and longest it spent without a drive was 12 months when the owner went to the UK for a year. I think the contact use is one of the reasons that so far I have has a pretty good run with it so far. I spent 27 years dreaming about having one. I really consider my self lucky to have the GTB. It has always been my dream Ferrari. The lines are just so "right" on that car, they really are timeless. When I am protective of it (not parking it in silly places etc) one friend said "hell it's only a CAR!" My responce was "no it's bloody NOT, it's the colmination of a 27 year long dream mate" After 8 months of ownership I still walk into my wharehouse every time and shake my head at the sight of the car sitting their :) I have no plans to "upgrade" to another Ferrari, as anything else in my mind would be a down grade :) Gavin New Zealand red/tan, dream, carbed, Euro spec, dry sump, RHD 308GTB on 16 inch wheels with low air dam and sports exhaust. _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/mysavard%40dsuper.n et Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper http://www.BidNip.com/ and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ No virus found in this incoming message.
