Just going to pass on some nice observations I made after two weekends
away... first in the GTB them in the Silver Shadow..
In the Ferrari the bueatiful engine is everpresent, the fiim steering is pin point and you can feel everything that the road has to offer through the wheel... the brakes and clutch are heavy (compartively) and you are siting ON the road. Everything to put you in contact with the fast driving experance...
In the Silver Shadow... it could not be more different! You steer with one finger, road what road?, hardly hear the motor unless it's poked with a big stick, never feel a gearchange.... slow and steady is the way,... it rewards the smoothest of drivers. It does everything to insulate you from the driving experiance. Which is in it'self a great experance and way to travel.
I think I got noticed by other drivers more in the RR.... I think it's just easyer to recognise to the "general" public.
Another funny story...
Where I keep my cars they are nose to tail in a shed...
So to get the RR out for the weekend I had to fire up the 308 and drive it out, get the RR out then put the 308 back in...
I did this while being watched by a friendly local joiner who works close by...
"hell lifes TOUGH, when you have to move your Ferrari to get your Rolls Royce out!"
Both are great cars that do what they do SO SO well. They are so far at the oposite ends of the use spectrum it's amazing!
