Gavin, Aha, I didn't know you had a Shadow! At one point I was the ultimate glutton for punishment having the 85 308, the 88 Spur, the 39 RR Phantom-III, and the daily driver 96 XJR. An Italian and 3 British cars?? Spur and XJR are now gone. Your story about pulling the 308 out to get the Rolls out reminded me of the exact same thing at 5:00am once where I had to explain to the police officer who stopped to see what was going on...."Well, officer, my wife likes to keep the Jag in the driveway, and in order for me to get the Ferrari out I've got to pull the Jag out, then pull the Ferrari out, then put the Jag back in the driveway! Life is *ROUGH*." :-) Talking of polar opposites, you have now inspired me....my family is late getting home, so I have nothing better to do than to go out for a drive in the 308, drive over to the storage unit where I keep my 1939 V12 Rolls-Royce RHD limousine, take it for a spin, then go back and trade it back for the 308....:-) -matt 85 euro 308 39 P-III '57 Bel Air '78 450 SEL ETC On 11/1/07, Gavin <gavinnz [at] xtra.co.nz> wrote: > > Just going to pass on some nice observations I made after two weekends > away... first in the GTB them in the Silver Shadow.. > > Both are great cars that do what they do SO SO well. > They are so far at the oposite ends of the use spectrum it's amazing! > > In the Ferrari the bueatiful engine is everpresent, the fiim steering is > pin > point and you can feel everything that the road has to offer through the > wheel... the brakes and clutch are heavy (compartively) and you are siting > ON the road.
