   Greetings fellow Car Guy,

As you have probably heard by now, Bob Holbert died last week as a
result of a brain tumor. Services will be held at the Dealership in
Warrington on Sunday, Novermber 25. The family will begin receiving
mourners at 2:00, and the memorial service will begin at 4:00.
Internment will be private. I, as well as other Car Guys, will be in
   attendance.

Along with his contemporaries Dan Gurney, Roger Penske, Caroll Shelby,
Bill Wonder, and others, Bob Holbert was instrumental in the formation
of sports car racing in post WWII America. Starting out in an MGTD he
went on to race several different marques including Porsche and Shelby
American. He did it all -- built them, fixed them, raced them, and
sold them. And he did it in Suburban Philadelphia.

Mr. Holbert was a wonderful man possessing a gruff exterior but a warm
interior. While employed by the Porsche dealership he founded, I
cherished the times when we would discuss with me one-on-one what it
was like back in those glory days of the `50s and `60s. Extremely
modest and humble, he was also funny in a very dry way. He was the
only person who knew him that didn't think he was a living legend. He
always made me want to do my best for him.

   Regards,
