We actually had this in the not too distant past. Surprised nobody
remembers. Tom Reynolds I think originally kicked it off as a "Good
Samaritans" list where List members who were traveling would have a list
of other Listers to call in various parts of the country if they found
themselves unexpectedly in need of Ferrari resources.

That kind of morphed into the Ferrari Support Database which I built as
a Windows 95 Cardfile way back. Eventually Steve J converted it to a
web-based database and hosted the information at the NWRFCA site. I
continued to administer and update the database. It housed everything
from dealers to independent mechanics to transport companies to
insurance providers.

A year or so ago Steve took it down from the NWRFCA site. I still have
the basic database as an Excel file. Would love to get it back on a
web-based version, but I have no programming expertise for it. If anyone
else does, or if Steve J still has code that could be put on someone
else's site, I'd be happy to go back to maintaining it.

Why don't we compile a list of service providers that each of us are
aware of within say a 50 mile radius of our homes and create a master
list that all can access.... that way if some one has a problem on
the
road or wishes to hire some one for a PPI they have a common list to
   go to.

If we are to do this, it might even give us an opportunity to share
some areas of concern that one or more of us has had with some
vendor.

I personally would differentiate who I might use for different series
of cars and who might be a little on the pricey side for certain
   things.

I would hope that the list would be providing information on those to
whom they would send their own cars.

I do not doubt ( even though I have been doing this Ferrari thing
since 1966) that there are competent talented shops within 100 or so
miles of my front door of whom I have no knowledge, and I certainly
would like to know who they are and for whom they have done what.

It never hurts to have one more source. Service / Parts-accessories /
   books / detailing etc.

I am sure that there are other lists created by other people, but
every thing changes every day....... and yesterdays list may
be inaccurate ( good or bad)

What I do not have a clue about (among many other things) is how do
we
create the list and who keeps it updated?
