Well, I know I could Google this, but tell the truth I'm kinda afraid to. Wife Karen has been told that she either has or might have "early renal failure" and the way things stand now she's going to get a referral appointment to a doctor (starts with neph or nef...something) who specializes in that sort of medicine. So naturally my mind is spinning. Questions: Can a person live a "normal" life on 1 kidney? I'm thinking, if it comes to that point, of giving her one of mine. I'm A positive and she's A negative, I believe. Would that make any difference? And, finally, (sorry) I like to bicycle. I've done more than 60 miles in one day once and I usually do maybe around 30-40 miles one weekend day, maybe 50 or maybe only 25 or so the next weekend day, will having only 1 kidney affect my "athletic" life in any way? I'm 60, if it matters. Thanks for any and all replies, thought someone on the list might have experience they could share. Tom Reynolds Tulsa, OK
