Sorry to impose once again but ,you guys always seem to know the answer to all my questions!

OK, I was loking around the house trying to find some stuff to throw away. I have all kinds of paperwork. Old Tax records, old bank statements and old stock acct info.

Can I get rid of all but the most recent of these documents? Save 3 years worth? 7 Years? I;ve never had any dealings with the IRS and hope I never do. I am always in the middle of the ranges with no big spikes to call attention to things. So hopefully I am not of much interest to them. Besides, if I needed a bank statement from 1991 I suspect my bank would get it for me. When you add up all the paperwork saved in this country the weight must be huge!

Any suggestions? The recycler comes this weekend and the woodstove if hot most of the time (for more sensitive papers) and I'd really like to get rid of a bunch of this stuff!

Thanks ya'll - Keep those red cars shiney side up! ;-)
