Besides the CDN GP this year, I'm trying for Goodwood #2 and Monterrey! Hey Lash: Thanks for the memory jog. I forgot to add my 4 Canadian races in Montreal. That makes it 28, not 24 GP's. In Canada, we always sit at the S turn, just after the start/finish, which is a VERY long walk from the Metro. That's where Coultard and Irvine came together one year. Montreal is where the boy ate his 1st escargot at the age of 3, and he loved them. If course he saw his 1st USGP at Indy in 2001 when he was only 2 1/2 MONTHS! He got his 1st autograph on the airplane going back that year too. Dan Gurney was sitting right across the aisle from us. I got a late start. My 1st was the USGP at Riverside in the fall of 1960 at the age of 29. Tom Reynolds must have been almost reaching retirement age about that time, 'eh Tom? <g> Running with the big dogs now, yer pal Ferrari Bubba -----Original Message----- From: LS < Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Juan Pablo Montoya - Bashing Awesome resume Bubba...I've been to 14 GPs, 10 Cavallino Classics and 1 Goodwood Festival...so far. Although my memories may not be as cool as yours from the old days, I did get to see Schumie win at the first USGP, saw him pass Meeker at Stowe corner at Silverstone in '98 and also saw him break his leg there in '99. I've met Phil Hill, Sir Jack Brabham. Mika Salo, and some other dudes... BTW-I've been to 10 Canadian GPs and have yet to be at the track sober. Wow, thanks for triggering the memories. I'm trying to raise enough money for the operation, and we're half-way there. After that, he may drool a little more, but his?superiority complex should be gone. BTW cLyDe:? I counted up the number of F1 races that I've attended and the total is 24, including Riverside, Watkins Glen, Long Beach, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Indy in the U.S. That's 6 out of 9 venues. In Europa it's?Spa Francorchamps, Zelweig, and Monza.?I thought that I had more, but that's what it turned out to be. The highlights? Going to Monza and Spa (in the rain, of course) and shaking Juan Manuel?Fangio's hand and having my picture taken with him in Vegas, circa 1982. Et tu, Brutus?? --?
