Speaking of detent balls, when I recently had my 308 in for the yearly safety inspection, somehow the detent ball for the headlight switch had disappeared. Odd....someone must have taken the switch handle off and the ball disappeared. I used a 4mm bead from my wife's craft stash and it fit perfectly. In the same area, both wires coming out to the end of that stalk had broken their solder joints. The top one was easy to repair, but for me who is unskilled with a soldering iron, it was difficult to get the bottom one firmly resoldered on....I wanted to briefly turn the car upside down so that gravity would work for instead of against me.... -matt '85 euro 308 with working headlights again...
