Hey Robert: Man, if I had 102K on a set of plugs in my engine, I couldn't sleep
at night.?As with?all my vehicles, when I change oil @5K, I check, replace or
service everything I can see. That means plugs, fluids, and filters, etc. That
way, if anything does go south, I can say that it wasn't my neglect that
contributed to the problem. Hey, I wasn't sitting on my shriveled old ass while
I should have been taking care of business.

Besides, that's just one more reason that I can spend more time with my beloved
Fazzaz without der Frau yelling at me.?

One of the rather nasty surprises I was faced with when I married der Frau, was
that she had a car that she had leased on a 5?year-50K mile basis, and the
lease was up in 2 months. I thought, fine, no problem until I looked at the
odometer and it read 105K, and she had NEVER changed the oil. At the end of the
lease, I paid the Lease Co. the book value of the car, had it detailed, tuned,
flushed the engine, changed the oil with 50 weight non-detergent?and added 2
cans of that engine fixer stuff. I got $900 for it. (OUCH!)

Subject: [Ferrari] 100,000 mile spark plugs....

As racing season is coming up, I decided to change the spark plugs in my Z06.
Never done that before. The car has 102K miles on it, all on the same set of
plugs. I've run the car in 24 Open Road Races, so about 2400 of those miles
were at 140+ mph. Most of the rest were freeway miles, but I expected some
significant wear on the electrodes. I (with much difficulty) pulled them out,
and, much to my surprise,...they looked pretty much brand new. Few deposits.
Little change to the electrodes. Amazing.

I've attached a picture. New vs. old plugs.
