Hi Michael,
It *appears* you are not against the obvious bias in the media. You acknowledge they comment incessantly about a Republican politican label as the media mentions over & over he *is* a Repub while they make a *very* determined effort to make sure any mention of the word "Democrat" is avoided when discussing a Dem who is found to have his hand in the cookie jar.
I cannot believe you are not an advocate for a free and unbiased media. Your reference to Fox News must be made because they tell the Republican side rather than ignoring it, I assume?
Personally I think *all* politicans have questionable character - I'd like to see the media go after all parties equally - after all that's their job. They need to dig into their backgrounds and learn how they feel about *all* the topics that are important to Americans. I'm not saying to look at their background to find dirt - that'll come out but it should not be the primary objectve, but we as voters need to hear all about our choices at the ballot box. For instance, Obama's pastor has a sermon much like that of Louis Farrakhan and some of the things his pastor has said in a speech I heard were even *more* extreme than that of Farrakhan! Which says a lot. Obama dismisses any questions about his church as being irrelevant - yet if he has been listening to what amounts to hate speech every week for 20 years it must not be irrelevant to obama! Also, Obama has given his church 10's of thousands of dollars. That's the kind of stuff that should be looked at - at *least* looked at. If the situation were reversed and a Republican went to a KKK meeting on a weekly basis I'm sure he'd be skewered by all involved - and rightfully so.
I'm not saying Obama needs the same treatment but the MS media should investigate it - perhaps he deserves it, perhaps not.
If the media doesn;t keep us informed we're just picking a name when voting. It's sad we have to depend on the MSM but that's the way it is. I doubt there's anyone that knows all the candidates well enough personally to make a decision *without* the media.

Most of the News organizations you mentioned had already 'informed' us that Spitzer had formally endorsed Hillary Clinton's candidacy for President, making the general public well-aware of Spitzer's political party affiliation. We-the-people didn't need 'Democrat' Spitzer mentioned ad-nauseum, because we already knew in-spades (unless more Repubs like Ann Coultier are now endorsing Hillary....I hear Satan just turned up the A/C a tizz) - hence, all the media's interest in trying to tie Clinton in with the story, drawing parallels regarding Spitzer's marriage with Bill/Hillary, the in-depth, psycho-analysis of Hillary's comments regarding Spitzer's fall, etc. etc. etc. I gather you're not accutely following the actions of the Democratic ticket race, read Newsweek, Time, MSNBC, SLATE, or, well anything BUT FarceNews, so you 'might' have missed all of this.....but the rest of us are already saturated/tired of it.
Thank God my Ferrari need some work, I can retreat to the garage this weekend....

Last time I looked, Spitzer was solidly Democratic. Not something that the
liberal media is anxious to include in their news reports, certainly not as
often as tying the word "Republican" to what ever transgressions done
on that
side of the aisle.
Look, whether we are talking Jim McGreevy (Gay American), Ted the Cape Cod
Orca Kennedy, William Jefferson BJ Clinton, Barney Frank, Jerry Studds (a name
perfect for male porn movies) etc. etc or any of the Republicans you
mentioned, there is no exclusivity of either party in sexual escapades. In
fact
there is more in common as politicians being power hungry, ego feeding sexual
predators rather than one party being more active than the other. They have
more in common than differences.
The original comment was more on the manner in which the media
differentiates its news coverage between the two parties. The slant in the
reporting by
the NY Times, MSNBC, USA Today, Time Magazine, the Washington Post et al is
much more likely to downplay the Democrat affiliation than the Republican
affiliation.

LOL...are you talking about Spitzer or Republican Don Sherwood? Or Republican Sen. Bob Packwood? Or Republican Senator David Vitter? My list of 'Moral-Majority', Neo-Conservative, Family-Values Repubs caught with their pants down around their ankles is getting so long, I may need to boot-up an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of them all. Don't worry, I'm sure the "Fair-and-Balanced" clowns over at FarceNews is keeping ya'all well-informed out there in the Heartland....
BTW, how long did it take Republican Sen. Larry Craig to FINALLY do the right thing? Even after the POTUS told him to leave? Oh....he's still fighting the good fight, alright. Its all the "Liberal Media's" fault. Gotcha. Drive through..... --- On Thu, 3/13/08, LarryT <l02turner
